Roy Moore Dodges Debate with Luther Strange
Birmingham, AL – The Strange for Senate Campaign Spokesperson released the following statement after Roy Moore refused to attend the News Radio 105.5 WERC GOP Senate Run-Off Debate on September 10th in Birmingham AL:
“In true career politician fashion, after multiple gaffes last week including calling President Trump out of touch and the replay of a concerning interview where Roy Moore was clueless on multiple issues including immigration and was unclear if he stood with President Trump on the issue, Roy Moore announced that he would not be attending the News Radio 105.5 WERC GOP Senate Run-Off Debate scheduled for September 10th,” said Shana Teehan. “This debate has been on the calendar for over three weeks and refusing to attend now is not only unfair to the voters who will not be able to hear from the candidates about the issues they care about, it is unfair to the multiple Republican Committees and others who worked so hard to put this event together. We hope that after Roy Moore returns from Washington D.C., where he will be seeking to raise money and support from outside groups he once called ‘disgusting’, he will be open to discussing issues with voters once again.”
Luther Strange and Roy Moore are still confirmed to attend the Alabama Policy Institute Forum at Samford University on September 21st at 6:30 PM CT pending no further changes from the Moore campaign.
